Friday 5th November – walks **** – Around Felixstowe – sunny but chilly.

1 – Sunrise prom walk.

With the cold/cough persisting we had a better night but were still awake early, Mag headed off down to the seafront around six when it was still dark while I wrapped up leaving home at 6.30 with my camera to catch the sunrise. I meet Mag walking back, she continued home while I headed to the seafront where I wanted to get some pics of the large poppies which have been placed on the prom lampposts. I sat in front on the town hall as the sun appeared and I got some interesting pics of the bright red poppies with the sun rising but it was very cold. Time to go home to warm up with a cuppa in bed sorting out my pics. Sadly, I did not get one of them on the local TV weather despite one being the Editor’s choice on the BBC!

2 – walk – The Dip to Felixstowe Ferry.

After breakfast I felt well enough to do my exercises while Mag continued her work in the garden. I then phoned my Dad to check up on him as he had had a hasty fall in the night and badly cut his head on a radiator, he was just off to the Doctors to redo the dressing which had come off turning the night and he seemed in good spirits! Being such a nice sunny day with light winds we needed to do something, deciding against a bike ride as we had to go to Lidl. So, after lunch and shopping I parked up at The Dip for a walk along the prom at the quieter end of Felixstowe. The sky was amazing, a deep blue with some really interesting fluffy clouds:) In the end we felt fit enough to get all the way to Felixstowe Ferry for a trip around the boat yard where we meet our neighbours putting their wooden yacht to sleep for the winter, stopping for a nice catch-up chat. Back home for the usual cuppa and cake with a video call from our son with Arlo not being very co-operative but still good and the germs are still there, it’s been over two weeks for them!
The weekend is looking good for windsurfing I just I am fit enough to enjoy it so will make it easy on myself and head to the River Orwell at Levington for a foil tomorrow:)
